no support for linear color space

Hi, I wondered why such a great asset, doesn't work with linear color space which is the standard one! can I fix it by some modifications? any solutions?

Hi,

Can you help explain what you mean by "doesn't work"? I should caveat that while I know vaguely what the differences are between linear and gamma, I do not have any knowledge of the maths behind the pipelines or the differences from an artistic perspective.

I have only ever used Linear while designing and using PicaVoxel - in fact I don't think I have ever switched Unity to Gamma for any reason. Can you explain what you are expecting to see and under what circumstances?

well, I created a new project (unity 1017.3) and set the color space of the project to linear. then added the PicaVoxel package (version 1.4.7) to my project. tried to import my model(.vox format). but the imported mesh would be purple

I investigated a little and found that the default shader gets purple too. so actually everything is purple!

Yeah that's not a color space problem, that's a shader error. What platform is set in Build Settings?

Also, for Unity 2017.1 - 2017.4 your PicaVoxel package version should be 1.4.8. The shaders were updated in 1.4.8, so you should try to update the package version in the asset store window.

the platform is android. I know it's a shader error, but everything works in gamma color space(it won't if you switch to linear then get back to gamma). thanks for the response. I've to admit that I downloaded the package for free from a website. it's a great asset with reasonable price, but I don't have the money for it! (Sorry!)
